Milton Homes And Townhomes
Milton, home to horse farms, golf courses and two-lane roads, has a lot of undeveloped land. So, more subdivisions and, potentially, more park land are in its future. The newly formed city became operational in December 2006. Many of the city’s 20,000 residents had previously complained that under Fulton County, they were being underserved and that their taxes were being used to benefit other parts of the county. Aside from public safety, most municipal services will be the responsibility of a private company that played a similar role when the city of Sandy Springs incorporated in 2005.

Tree Huggers Unite In Milton Georgia!
August 15th, 2010 Categories: Deborah's Scrapbook, Milton, The Garden Shed

The Milton Tree Ordinance passed by City Council!
Great news for all of us that were lured to the beautiful city of Milton by the abundance of rolling landscapes, farms and wooded nature. The city council of Milton Georgia has approved a new law that regulates how trees are to be handled on properties.

For any tree over 15 inches in diameter, (which is about the circumference of a persons thigh) the property owner will need permission to chop it down. The ordinance was crafted “to further ensure and preserve the rural characteristic in the city of Milton by retaining as many of our trees as we can”, said Lynn Tully, the Milton GA community development director.

The ordinance, which has working its way through the city council since 2008, also provides for the regulation and approval of tree removal companies who specialize in this area. The ordinance recently passed unanimously.

Bethany Bend High School-2012-New School In Milton Georgia
November 13th, 2009 Categories: Fulton County, Milton, SCHOOLS
Within the City of Milton Georgia, to a small group of residents, the new plans for Bethany Bend High School were revealed. This Schools projected redistricting process for Fulton Schools will begin in 2011, a year prior to the opening of Bethany Bend High.
Bethany Bend High School’s total acreage is 65 acres with 25 acres remaining undisturbed and half of the usable land will be devoted to playing fields and landscape design. A Sports Complex, which can seat up to 3,700 spectators will accommodate a football, soccer, track and field, softball, baseball, lacrosse and tennis, as well.
The cost of Bethany Bend High has now totaled $70 million and can accomadate up to 1,900 students, sceduled to open its doors in the fall of 2012. It appears, at this time, that there will be only 2 entrances into the school,1 off Cogburn Road and the second entrance off Bethany Bend. Restrictions do not allow for a Highway 9 entrance, which residences were hoping for.
Plans for the design of Bethany Bend High School will have the grandness resembling Milton High School’s Columns and a Johns Creek Clock Tower look alike. It has been said that the design actually resembles a ski lodge with heavy beams, dark woods and stone accents. Described as a “Main Street” design. This new high school will relieve the overcrowded conditions at Milton High School, which is estimated to have 2,800 students by 2011.
