Dawson County is one of 159 counties in Georgia.The county is in the Atlanta metro area. The estimated population in 2004 was 19,064. This was an increase of 19.16% from the 2000 census. It has 211.0 sq. miles in land area. The county was named after the congressman William C. Dawson. Dawsonville is the County Seat.

Just recently, Vice President Joe Biden, made a visit to the City of Dawsonville In What the News is calling North Atlanta. Well, Dawsonville is very North of Atlanta and that is probably why he was there.
It seems the rural area of Georgia, which happen to be North of Atlanta, really need a broadbad update.

Big Canoe in Dawson County and Pickens County, City of Big Canoe 30143.Directions: GA 400N. Exit left @ Hwy 369. Go 12mi to Yellow Creek Rd. Turn rt & go to end (10mi.) Turn rt @ Hwy 53. Turn left @ Steve Tate Hwy and go 1.5 mi. to main gate on the left.
