A recent study based on 2006 census information has placed Forsyth County at number 13 in the nation in median annual income. The Forbes list shows Forsyth County having a median income of $83, 682. No other Georgia county made the list. Forsyth County Commission chairman Charles Laughinghouse was surprised by the notoriety. “I know we are considered the most affluent in Georgia, but I would not have put us 13th in the nation.”

the City of Cumming is really getting the buzz.
According to the 2010 Census, 175,511 people are calling Cumming GA home in 2010. That’s up over 78% percent from the last Census in 2000.

Pets For Adoption Around North Atlanta GA

I have always loved pets! In fact, like a lot of children, I told everyone as I grew up, that I was going to be a veterinarian. Well, my passion for real estate took over. That, fortunately, has never changed how I feel about these little souls, domestic or wild.

Jacob’s Journey 5K Race In Forsyth County March 5th

On December 24th 2010 a tragedy happened that really did not get the attention from the media, like a lot of other stories locally in the are of North Atlanta. Maybe being Christmas Eve, or some other media event thought to be more important, I must admit I never heard about this local story until recently.
A little boy of 3 years named Jacob was crushed and left without oxygen to his brain for 15 minutes, by an elevator in a home. With the help of Forsyth County Police officers, especially Officer Banning, and the jaws of life, he was removed from the pressure of the elevator and taken to a local hospital.
Things have not been the same for the Helvey family ever since. The reason for this post is to provide information for a local 5K walk / Run that has been organized to help the family pay for the enormous hospital bills and to give hope to Jacob and his family for a bright future.
Below are resources to learn about both the event being held in March and to read a bit about Jacob and his strength and courage, in the heart of this 3 year old boy.
