The news is reporting that the Sweet Water Creek and the rain that North Georgia received over 3 days, produced several feet of water in what is recently reported as a 500 year flood.
Vice President Joe Biden spent more than an hour at the Cobb County Civic Center, where over 200 flood victims of North Georgia, are now calling home.
Governor Sonny Perdue asked the White House to put seventeen Georgia counties on a disaster declaration list so that the areas would be eligible for federal disaster relief. So far, seven counties are on that list. The Vice President announced that Carrol, Stephens, and Chattooga counties were added to the list that already included Cobb, Douglas, Paulding, and Cherokee.

Reports state that Lake Lanier in Forsyth County gained 37 Billion Gallons of Flood Waters and have been retained. I do believe our drought is officially over and it will take many months for the area of North Georgia to get things back to “normal”.
The latest update is more rain to come….
